| 06/14/11 | River Valley Animal Foods/Tyson - PPMI Construction Company receives accolades for a job well done.
'all of us here at River Valley Animal Foods (RVAF) would like to say thanks in a big way. With the team that (PPMI) assembled here for the PLC and electrical project, I don't see how it could have been any better. Your team was a lot of fun to be around, worked hard in some pretty harsh conditions that are not quite what most are used to, I am sure of that, but they did their job as well as anyone could ask. They were put with some pretty tight time lines and they went above and beyond to meet and exceed them, most generally exceeding them every time. The quality of work was superb, and the thought process of looking ahead was great. (The crew) cared about was going on and I appreciate that very much. We like to say that RVAF is the definition of teamwork that Webster didn't list in the dictionary, but I can assure you PPMI could have a spot in it as well. Thanks again for a job well done, it was a pleasure working with you all... A great impression has been left on all of us, (all the) way up to the top.' | 05/20/11 | Rio-Tinto Alcan - PPMI Construction Company recently completed a $1.7 million dollar heavy civil job for Rio-Tinto Alcan in Sebree, KY. The fast pace project was broken into two phases. The first phase was to pour approximately 750 precast concrete slabs and 270 precast corbels to be used in a bake furnace refurbishment project. Phase two consisted of setting the precast slabs in place on site, pouring the joints to unify the slabs, and then to place approximately 500 cubic yards of an exotic high temperature resistant concrete mix in a checkerboard pattern on top of the slabs. PPMI was given 12 days to complete Phase two and worked around the clock to complete it a day early in 11 days thus enabling us to turn the project over early to the refractory contractor. The project was full of challenges ranging from extremely dangerous site conditions, a fast paced schedule with the owner's process at stake, and working with a unique concrete product that had zero tolerance for error. PPMI proved once again that with proper planning, dedicated management, and a superior work force, we can execute the most difficult projects in the time frame our customers demand. |

| 03/16/11 | Kyle Capin, 22 year old PPMI pipe
fitter is awarded the prestigious Jefferson Award for his excellence
in community service.
In 2007, while a student at Harrison High School, Kyle organized a fishing trip for students with disabilities as a senior project. 'Catching With Capin' was a tremendous success and was repeated in 2008, 2009, and 2010. As 'Catching With Capin' grew to include more students, so did the costs. Last year Kyle raised more than $4000 and recruited 30 volunteers for the outing. Several of the students Kyle takes on the trip are severely disabled, and he said his only goal was to 'deliver them a fun experience that they might not otherwise have.' They get lunch and a T-shirt to take home. The Jefferson Award is a national program that recognizes outstanding community and public service. It was established by the American Institute for Public Service, an organization founded by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, U.S. Senator Robert Taft and Sam Beard in 1972. |
